06 — Our story
From a Finnish sauna bench to a Cape Town beach

Jari, Mix & family.
Meet Jari: a Finnish-Canadian carpenter with sauna in his DNA. From a long line of carpenters, he was practically born with a hammer in his hands — building traditional Finnish saunas into every house his family ever lived in, starting at eleven years old.
Mix grew up in Cape Town and spent a decade in the great North, deep in its sauna culture. It took a trip to Finland — to meet Jari’s new nephew, just before moving back — for the two of them to realise Cape Town needed this. They bought a cattle trailer, built the whole thing by hand, and hit the sand in January 2024.
The idea was always bigger than a hot box on wheels. In the sauna everyone sits on the same bench — surfers and grandmothers, locals and blow-ins, all bodies welcomed, not judged. You sweat, you swim, you talk to strangers. Being fully alive and present is the point, not a side effect.
Rest isn’t lazy. Come laugh with us, come play with us.
